Lucifer: Episode 2

Episode 2 of Lucifer just premiered and it was marvelous. It had one familiar face that we could never forget and we missed dearly.

The second episode starts with Lucifer confronting a man "preaching" on Sunset. He shows his true face to the man and turns him into a "true believer".

Lucifer has a session with Doc Martin. He tells her he's cured and has no empathy anymore. She thinks he's changing, but he doesn't know what is changing, why it's changing, or who's causing the change.

Lucifer has Maze make Chloe a drink at LUX and the devilishly hot demon tells Chloe she followed Lucifer through the gates of Hell, that's how close they are. Obviously that's not taken literally by our little human detective. Lucifer is sitting in the middle of the room at the piano, playing a beautiful song. He thinks he's gotten her under his spell, but she's only checking him for a bulletproof vest. She gets a call about a homicide.

Chloe's ex-husband is there on the scene of the death of a young celebrity named Robbie Russell Jr. Lucifer shows up because he's desperate to find out why he doesn't effect her. She spots something. His name is Nick, he's a paparazzo and a "cockroach". We all loved him as cockroach Dickie Bennett on Justified, another ridiculously amazing show. He still looks exactly the same, but his accent is a bit - or a lot - less thick. Detective Douche (Lucifer's pet name for Chloe's ex) ruins everything and has Dickie - I mean, Nick - taken away. Lucifer finds some pot at the crime scene and smokes it right there in front of everyone until Chloe stomps it out.

Stoned Lucifer has a threesome with an attractive young woman and man, but wakes up to find Amenadiel. Amenadiel tells him that if he goes back to Hell now, he'll talk to Father for him. In one of his usual quips, Lucifer tells him to shove his ultimatum up his feathered hole.

Chloe is getting Trixie ready to go hang out with Detective Douche when Lucifer shows up. He's surprised by the size of her home. Trixie is excited to see Lucifer and hugs him, a regular occurrence that I love. I will probably melt if he ever hugs her back. He takes her doll and tosses it across the room and tells her to fetch it. All the adorable little girl does is laugh and tell him he's funny. Lucifer is absolutely floored when he finds out Chloe's mom is Penelope Decker, a 80's B-movie vixen.

Lucifer charms his way into the interrogation room with Nick and asks him to tell him everything he knows about Chloe. Nick reveals that two weeks after Hot Tub High School (the movie Chloe was in) was released Chloe's father died. Chloe hates Nick because he crashed her father's funeral and made a great amount of money on the picture of her punching him. When Nick won't tell him who he's protecting, Lucifer pesters him until he lashes out. Lucifer just vanishes.

Chloe goes to talk to Robbie's father, who I also recognized. Robbie Sr. is played by Greg Vaughn who also played Lucky Spencer on General Hospital. Anywho. Chloe tells him that she doesn't believe Nick killed his son.

Maze goads Lucifer into lashing out at her just as Chloe arrives to yell at him for somehow getting into Nick's cell. Chloe catches a lead that takes her and Lucifer to a party. Lucifer recognizes one of the paparazzi from that morning. When the guy slips away by pointing everyone in Chloe's direction, Lucifer sort of stands up for her and incites a brawl within the group of photographers.

Detective Douche gets a name for Chloe, Josh is Nick's protege. Lucifer and Chloe find Josh taking pictures of a young lady eating lunch. When a woman comes up a slaps her, Lucifer and Chloe come to the realization that he's planned the event. Chloe takes her evidence to Nick and he willingly tells her everything he knows about Josh. She asks him to testify against Josh. She gets a call from Dan (Detective Douche) that Josh is missing and when she comes back, Nick is gone. The desk clerk says the handsome, tall, British guy took him.

Lucifer takes Nick to where Maze has Josh duct-tapped in the trunk of a car. Maze lays two guns down in between the men, whoever shoots first wins. Josh grabs a gun and shoots at Nick. Maze hadn't loaded that one. Chloe arrives and tries to talk Nick out of shooting Josh. As he pulls the trigger, Lucifer prays and Amenadiel shows up, slowing time. Lucifer kicks Josh in the uprights and removes the bullet. He tells his brother that he needed him to rectify the situation and to annoy him in the process, "killing two birds with one prayer". When the angel disappears, Chloe's startled when Lucifer's right behind her. She's so confused by the fact that she can't explain anything she'd just experienced.

Chloe sits down with Trixie to discuss Hot Tub High School, but Trixie already knows about it and all is good.

Lucifer tells Doc Martin that he does think there's a who that's changing him.

Chloe goes to see Jimmy at the psych ward he's in. He freaks out when she mentions Lucifer's name and starts slamming his head against the plastic door, screaming "He's the devil!"

"You can take your ultimatum and shove it up your feathered hole."
"How do you afford this place? Do you take bribes?"
"Is this yours?" "Yeah, she's a ballerina by day, but a ninja biochemist by night." "A simple yes would have sufficed." - Lucifer and Trixie
